Embossing Enamel

Is there another way to warm Embossing Enamel besides the expensive warming plate?

If by “Embossing Enamel” you mean Thick Clear embossing powders (like UTEE, etc.), then you can use other container and heat sources besides their melting pots/trays.

Other heat sources could be things like a heat gun (sometimes called an embossing gun, or use a garage type heat gun but farther away since will be hotter), or the oven, or an electric skillet or warming tray with the UTEE in it or inside another container in or on it …perhaps even a double-boiler arrangement.

The containers themselves could be anything that’s heat proof… for example, non-stick pots/pans/trays, small metal tins/pans or even aluminum foil inside something fairly heat proof, or probably any suitable size-shaped containers made from glass, ceramic or even silicone like cupcake forms/etc (those could be non-stick as well)… some of those might not be usable again though if not non-stick.

You can also use other heat resistant mats when needed, like silicone-pads for the kitchen (Silpat, silicone pot holders, etc) and possibly even those thinner silicone sheets used for attaching fabric appliques or for fusible webbing, etc, “Teflon” coated baking sheets, the old silicone mats intended for use with colored hot glues, etc.

What you might want to use would also depend on the shape and depth you need for what you’re doing with the embossing powder… perhaps shallow and wider, or smaller and deeper, etc… and whether you want to keep the UTEE melted or don’t mind reheating it every so often.
